Friends of the
Georgetown Peabody Library

Who We Are

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library is a Non-profit 501c3 organization whose purpose is to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community, to stimulate public support and community involvement on behalf of the library. The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library are a registered Charity with the Massachusetts State Attorney General's Office.

What We Do

Funds raised are used to support library programs, to purchase museum passes, books and other resources for the library. Your membership fee pays for .mailings of newsletters and announcements of Friends' activities.

Meetings

The Friends generally meet on the first Tuesday of the month, 7:00pm at the Library. All are welcome.

GOAL 2000

GOAL 2000 is a sub-group of the Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library.  Their objective is to raise money specifically for the Library Building Project.
Gifts donated to this group will be set aside for purchasing items that cannot be paid for out of Construction Grant Funds. Some of these items include:
  • Shelving
  • Chairs
  • Desks
  • Meeting Room seating
  • Computers
  • Lecterns
  • Paperback carousels
  • Dictionary stands
  • Landscaping and paving
As of Dec 2005, GOAL 2000 has raised over $54,000. Gifts may be given in memory of a loved one, to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, as part of your annual charitable giving plan. Many businesses offer matching gifts to the charity of your choice.  Check with your Human Resources or Corporate Endowment office.
