Go Green at your library. Singups for the summer reading program begin June 22nd. Registration can be done both online at www.readsinma.org/georgetown or at the Georgetown Library. While online check the box for the Bruins You Read You Score Program to be entered in a statewide drawing for great Bruins prizes. Once you are signed up, stop in to the library to pick up your summer reading kit. Use the reading log to keep track of how much time you read (or are read to) this summer. Reading material can include books, magazines, comics, recorded books, or even cereal boxes! To report your progress enter it online or bring your reading log to the library. Registration required for programs noted!!

The Summer Reading Program begins June 22nd, 2010

The prizes for the Children's summer reading program will be available in the library between August 16th through August 27th.

for Families



June 28 6pm Summer Reading Kick Off

Come join African drummer Michael Wingfield
whose interactive performance will feature songs
and rythms of the African New World.

Bring a picnic and a blanket to the library lawn.
If it is raining the program will be inside the library

Altered Books


For kids going into 4th grade and up.

Turn old books into works of art! We'll learn basic techniques
- from painting and collage to cutting doors
and windows - that will transform any book into something
extraordinary. Supplies will be provided. ,
Registration begins June 29th

Bring a snack and a blanket. Come and sit back and
enjoy some fun stories on the library lawn..

July 6 10:30-12 Green Crafts

Drop in and create an environmentally friendly craft

July 7 6pm Movie Night

Get out of the heat and watch a fun movie. The movie
will be announce later. Check with the library for the movie
schedule.

July 9 10:30 Pack-a-Snack

Bring a snack and a blanket. Come and sit back
and enjoy some fun stories on the library lawn.

July 13 10-12:00
New England Aquarium Tide pool Touch Tanks

Drop in anytime between 10 - 12, and explore tide
pool touch tanks. Come and meet some creatures that
live in the ocean. Aquarium staff will be present
to help answer questions.

This performance is funded by a grant from the
Georgetown Cultural Council, a local agency
supportedby the Massachusetts Cultural Council,
a state agency.

July 14 6pm Movie Night

Get out of the heat and watch a fun movie. The movie
will be announce later. Check with the library for the movie
schedule.

July 16 10:30 Pack-a-Snack

Bring a snack and a blanket. Come and sit back
and enjoy some fun stories on the library lawn.

July 20 10:30-12 Green Crafts

How big of a bubble can you make?
Come to the library lawn and find out. The
program will be cancelled if it is raining

July 28 6:45 Conservation Night
Steve Przyjemski from the Georgetown Conservation will
bring local critters from the area. He will will talk
about protecting out wetlands, and the impact of pollution
on the animals that live there.
